Many Americans have talent, but not everyone who auditions for NBC’s America’s Got Talent has what it takes to be a star. The episode that aired on Tuesday, however, came to a standstill when a fifty-eight year old woman who sings in the subways of New York City took the stage. Alice Tan Ridley, the mother of Academy Award nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe, sang the Etta James classic “At Last” and brought the audience to their feet. Talent obviously runs in the family.
